A few weeks back I was in Tokushima, Japan visiting the crew at Buaisou to understand more
of their unique craftsmanship and lifestyle and to thank them for trusting Godspeed
as one of their few retailers worldwide.
Buaisou is a small hard-working team that was founded in 2012 by indigo farmers and dyers
Kenta Watanabe and Kakuo Kaji.
Tokushima is famous for its 'Sukumo' style of indigo dyeing where the indigo leaves are composted
into an organic paste before it becomes part of the indigo dyeing bath process.
Buaisou is truly unique in that their products are literally 'from farm to closet' as they farm their own indigo plants,
weave their own yarn, design their own products + branding, and hand dye and create almost everything
entirely in-house at their beautiful, traditional Japanese studio.
Buaisou is now hosting indigo dyeing workshops at their workshop in Tokushima and Brooklyn.
Enjoy the photo's below and get in touch for more information or ordering specific Buaisou products.
